Chrysalis of a Brown Hairstreak (Thecla betulae)
[Breeding image]
I had placed the Brown Hairstreak (Thecla betulae) caterpillar I found to my rearing box along with a potted Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa). After about 3 weeks, the caterpillar had matured and pupated on the floor in a niche. The remains of the caterpillar's skin can be seen at the lower end of the chrysalis.
