Young caterpillar of a Brown Hairstreak (Thecla betulae) on a Blackthorns (Prunus spinosa) branch in Bonn-Kessenich
After finding a few eggs of a Brown Hairstreak (Thecla betulae) on a Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) branch in our garden over the past few years, I searched the Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) for caterpillars in the spring of 2026. To my surprise, after searching for about two minutes, I found a young caterpillar at a height of about 1.50 meters.
